Technology and governance solutions, mitigation and risk management, strategic company growth support and sustainability are areas that Tom has a personal interest in helping his clients better themselves for success in the marketplace.

Tom represents and advises clients on a range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, amalgamations and corporate reorganizations, divestitures, private placements, and corporate financings. He has considerable international experience having acted for Canadian Crown Corporations and other parties in international transactions including intellectual property licensing transactions.

As a mechanical engineer by trade, former president of a Waterloo-based software company, and an active member on various boards, Tom’s experience in both the corporate and legal worlds firmly position him as a highly-skilled, knowledgeable and trusted advisor to his clients.

A proud supporter of Kitchener-Waterloo’s technology sector, Tom is a founding member and director of Communitech, the Waterloo Region technology association, the Chair of the founding committee of the Accelerator Centre on the North Campus of the University of Waterloo, and Vice-Chair, Secretary and director. He dedicates a portion of his time to helping young entrepreneurs start their businesses by providing strategic advice, guidance and ongoing mentorship.
